Yes, swimming with wild dolphins is safe when done responsibly. Our experienced guides ensure that interactions are conducted safely and respectfully, prioritising both your safety and the dolphins' well-being. Participants are instructed on proper behaviour and are prohibited from touching or chasing the dolphins to protect their natural environment.
The retreat package includes:
  • Return transfers from Maputo International Airport to Ponta do Ouro.
  • Shared en-suite air-conditioned accommodation. (Single supplement available at an additional cost).
  • Daily breakfast.
  • 3 interactive dolphin swims (weather permitting) including boat transfers to the dolphin swim sites
  • Informative talks on dolphins and their environment.
  • 3 Yoga Flow sessions.
  • 2 Sound Healing sessions (30 minutes each).
  • 2 Reiki Healing sessions (30 minutes each).
  • 2 delicious 3-course dinners.
The following are not included:
  • Flights/transport to Maputo International Airport.
  • Snorkel gear and wetsuit hire.
  • Extra meals and drinks.
  • Any drinks other than the tea and coffee provided.
The cost per person sharing is R17,000, with an early bird discount of R16,000 if paid in full 4 months before departure.

All travellers entering Mozambique must have a valid passport with at least six months of validity remaining. South African passport holders do not require a visa for entry. It is recommended to check with Home Affairs to ensure your travel documents are current and meet Mozambique's entry requirements. Passport holders from other countries should contact their nearest Mozambique consulate for specific travel and visa information.
The retreat begins and concludes at Maputo International Airport. Participants will gather at 2pm on the first day of the retreat and will be returned to the airport by 1pm on the final day.
SA Airlink offers daily flights from Johannesburg and Cape Town to Maputo International Airport, which is the recommended route. Alternatively, you can travel by road from South Africa via the Kosi Bay or Komatipoort Border Posts. Be sure to check the latest information on border conditions and travel safety to Mozambique.
We will stay at Mar e Sol, located just above the main beach area of Ponta do Ouro, a 5-minute walk from the town centre. Single rooms are available upon request, with surcharges.

Ponta do Ouro has not had a malaria case in the past 10 years. Consult a Travel Clinic or Travel Doctor to decide on prophylaxis. Mozitec is a popular, cost-effective option with minimal side effects.

A reasonable level of fitness is recommended, but you do not need to be a strong swimmer or highly fit to attend. The boat deckhand will assist during the dolphin swims. We also recommend staying hydrated and using sun protection as you'll be outdoors during much of the retreat.
